Deathboot started in the spring of 1999 as a successfull attempt to make music history. After fooling around with different instruments (especially the ones we actually could handle at the time, i.e. not the ones we play today) for a while, just the good (Billing), the bad (Wendel) and the ugly (Viktor) were left.

Deathboot was supposed to play a mix of various sources of mangel, due to the fact that Billing and Viktor were punks and Wendel a death metal-freak. This quickly fell apart, for odd reasons (some say the evil Buchfink was involved, but we'll never know). Viktor and Billing also felt that they wanted to play more bootpunk than metal, so they asked Wendel if he also was found of that idea. Since Wendel is a devoted mangelmaniac he was of course. We just had to find a new bassplayer.

The problem solved itself quite easy though. At one rehearsal the punkrocker Ludde came to borrow some cables. Since he played in a lowdown, no-good band called Supernatural we felt that he deserved something better. Said and done, we refused him to leave our rehearsal room while we discussed his fate. We decided that he was our new bassplayer and went straight to the crippled bastards in Supernatural to give them the news. Since they are little poserfags, and afraid of us, they had to accept the terms "shut up or die!" Wendel gave them. The almighty Deathboot line-up became:

Billing - Vocals
Wendel - Guitar
Ludde - Bass
Viktor - Drums

We recorded our first reh.demo "In käng we crust" and had our first gig, at Smålands Nation in Lund, with this line-up. A second reh.demo was recorded by Ludde, without the knowledge of the others, but still it resulted in an amazing audio-experience, at least for people who likes static, feedback and weird noises in general. At some rehearsals there was a fifth guy in the rehearsal room, playing a guitar as it seemed, but we know nothing about that. In October '99 mr. Bass' patience with him had run out, and he was put to sleep with the fishes. At least that's what is said in the streets, the body was never found.

The entire year 2000 Deathboot was involved in a wild orgy of alcohol, meat, sugar and böcklingpastej, which lead to a very low profile in the "music" business...

In January 2001 the first proper demo ("Hagridden") was recorded, and the song Addicted later ended up on a german comp.tape (out on Yellow Dog records, and as soon as we receive our copies of it it'll be posted on the record-section of this page). The first international shows (in Denmark and Swaziland) took place, much to the bemusement of world leaders. In September the second demo was recorded, followed by a gig in the name of agriculture, obviously taking place in Svedala...
